Mary Buchanan, Highstead conservation associate and 2014 Connecticut College graduate, was recently highlighted by her alma mater for her work on a new conservation funding report.
A new $3.25 million program aimed at paying landowners to conserve and restore their wooded land for biodiversity and water protection is now accepting applications. The funding will come from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Healthy Forests Reserve Program and applications will be screened by the Long Island Sound Watershed Regional Conservation Partnership Program (LISW-RCPP).
Highstead and the Wildlands and Woodlands team are pleased to announce the hiring of a new Senior Conservationist, Spencer Meyer. His work will focus on developing conservation finance strategies to advance New England forest conservation.
Submissions for the second round of the Regional Conservation Partnership (RCP) Innovation Grant Program are due February 20 by 6 p.m.
