New York - New England Family Forest Owner Engagement Initiative

The New York – New England Family Forest Owner Engagement Initiative was designed to determine how to best engage family forest owners to manage and conserve their woodlands to sustain large forested landscapes.

The project found that the most successful practice is to have Regional Conservation Partnerships (RCP) collaborate with Woodland Ambassadors to creatively bring together small groups of landowners in priority conservation areas. The project resulted in the creation of a 16-step approach for engaging landowners as well as insight into successful communications and outreach.
